It’s been our objective since the first Five Year Plan,
albeit it seems a task impossible for man.
I am foremost in vote propaganda,
when in power I am not their funda.
We all are so poor,
that we don’t even have the floor.
If you are in any Indian part,
you will see me even near the mart.
We bear the cold,
but it doesn’t make us bold.
To get food from the bin is also a struggle,
as the competitor is the eagle,
Education for us is a distant stream,
for you a joke it may seem.
No happiness in their slums,
even justice is denied as we have to keep mum
We live like the nomads,
being poor we are referred-corrupt & bad.
Our poverty is omnipresent,
still no effort to make it transparent
