A LOTUS IN MUCK

I am the city of art, culture & heritage,
But still I am in Neolithic Age
I lag behind in the metro’s race,
I am trying to catch up with their pace
The Nobel Laureates belong to me,
nothing more can I say with a glee.
The best brains are born here,
my incompetence compels them to go elsewhere.
I am famous for traffic jams & slums,
also for having caring mums
My kids add grace to Bollywood,
I even have my own Tollywood.
Education is eminent,
technology is translucent.
I was once India’s capital,
so I shall not turn fatal
I will rise as I am Kolkata,
I have the blessings of Durga Mata.

MENTALLING MATHEMATICS

My Mathematics marks make me shudder,
It’s like the sky’s lightening and thunder.
Black clouds all around,
Are like the taunting sound.
The unlucky number 68,
Is now a part of my fate.
Doing Mathematics I often wonder,
What’s the use of this endeavour?
A Loser! A Failure! That’s me,
I say all this with a glee.
No one affected by my feeling,
I am here in my poem left bleeding.
Already I am an idiotic,
Slowly turning psychic.
Where is the Almighty?
He must come to cool my anxiety.
